“I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak His praises.” -Psalm 34:1
God is good.
God is faithful.
God is just.
God is sovereign.
God is kind.
God is joyful.
God is love…
We could just keep going and going and going, describing who God is and giving reasons why He is so worthy of praise.
All the time is the right time to praise God. There is never a time God is not deserving of our praise! David, recognizing this truth and moved in his heart, proclaimed passionately in Psalm 145:2-3, “I will praise You everyday; yes, I will praise You forever. Great is the Lord! He is most worthy of praise! No one can measure His greatness.”
God rightly deserves our praise each and every day! When we actually take time to just praise Him, we often find that our own spirit is powerfully lifted. Our enemy, the devil, wants us to keep our eyes on ourselves. Then he can discourage us and distract us from what really matters, namely God! William Thrasher wisely put it this way, “Satan so hates the genuine praise of Christ that his fiery darts of discouragement are not effective against us when we respond in praise.” So true! And even if our spirit isn’t lifted right away, nonetheless, God is worthy of all our praise, all the time.
The Lord is greatly glorified when we intentionally praise Him. As we go to Him in praise, we remember who God is and who we are. So, let’s take time today to intentionally speak His praises! There are countless things to praise Him for, including food, clothing, guidance, trials, laughter, tears, wisdom, peace, hardship, joy….on and on and on we could go. As Hebrews 13:15 puts it, “Therefore, let us offer through Jesus a continual sacrifice of praise to God, proclaiming our allegiance to His name.”
Godspeed, friends!
