“O my people, trust in Him at all times. Pour out your heart to Him, for God is our refuge.”-Psalm 62:8
When all four of my kids were young and just learning to swim, to encourage them, I would get in the pool and tell them to jump from the edge into my arms in the water. I’d say, “I’ll catch you! Trust me.” Their job was to trust me and jump. My job was to catch them. I only dropped them a couple of times. I’m kidding! Fortunately, I always caught them. Therefore, their trust grew.
We have a God, the God of the universe, who is fully trustworthy! All He says is true. All He does is right. Unlike any human being, He can be trusted on every occasion. Psalm 111:7 says, “All He does is just and good, and all His commandments are trustworthy.” So, God is dependable. His word to us, the Bible, is reliable. We can count on Him and all He tells us. When can we trust Him? When are we to trust Him? All the time!
Let me ask you, does your path seem smooth right now? Praise Him and keep trusting Him. Is your way difficult, uncertain, or hard? Cry out to Him and keep trusting Him! God is our refuge, our shelter, where we find peace, protection, and power to face everything. God’s job is to be God and reign over everything righteously. Our job is to trust Him every moment.
Godspeed, friends!
