“So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”-Galatians 6:9

Do you ever get worn down from life? Well, obviously the answer for all of us is yes. We have plenty of times when weariness can set in for one reason or another. Perhaps that’s what you feel right now. Tired. Weary. If not now, the truth is we all grow faint at some point. When we do, often discouragement comes with it. But, there is hope. Our good God never grows tired or weary (Isaiah 40:28), and He gives us His truth to lead us onward!

In Galatians 6:9, God led Paul to encourage the Galatian Christ-followers as they too faced difficulty, faced their own flesh day after day. Paul wrote, “So let’s not get tired of doing good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Paul gave a similar exhortation in 2 Thessalonians 3:13 saying, “As for the rest of you, dear brothers and sisters, never get tired of doing good.” The early church needed a word of motivation to keep going in good. Don’t we often need the same encouragement?

My friends, in the midst of a pandemic, and just in the difficulties of this life, let’s not give up in doing good. Keep praising the Lord, both individually and with your church family! Keep trusting the Lord! Keep praying to the Lord! Keep loving others, sharing kindness, obeying God’s Word, being patient with one another, encouraging each other, sharing the Good News of Jesus with others… Why? Because as God says, a harvest of blessing is coming if we don’t give up. And any blessing God wants to give, especially the satisfaction of knowing we are honoring the Lord, is worth it.

So, let’s not give up. There’s good to be done for the glory of God and good of others! We can do this through Christ alone who gives us strength.

Godspeed, friends!
